Inte helt överraskande finns ett samband mellan sydligare breddgrader och cabbar. Det slås fast i en undersökning från informationsföretaget Infotorg.
I juni 2012 fanns 6,56 öppna bilar per 1 000 invånare i Skåne. Inget annat län hade fler fordon registrerade med karosserikod 25, det vill säga cabrioleter. Vid samma tidpunkt fanns 0,95 cabbar per 1 000 invånare i Västerbotten. Det gör det länet till Sveriges minst cabriolettäta.
Bryter man ned statistiken och tittar på kommuner återfinns Skånekommunerna Vellinge, Lomma och Båstad på de tre översta platserna. I Vellinge finns 16,38 cabrioleter per 1 000 invånare. Arjeplog utmärker sig med att inte ha en enda registrerad cabriolet.
Totalt fanns i juni 37 335 registrerade cabbar i Sverige. Fordonstypen utgör 0,85 procent av den totala fordonsparken.
