Framträdandet på Festival of speed i engelska Goodwood var det första någonsin på europeisk mark för nya kraftpaketet Ford Shelby GT500. Bilen lanserades nyligen i Nordamerika och kördes av inbjudna förare inför motorsportentusiaster på festivalen.
Med en toppfart på 320 km/h och 662 hästkrafter från den 5,8-liters V8-motorn är Shelby GT500 den snabbaste och starkaste Mustangen som någonsin funnits som produktionsmodell.
Bilens främre bromsar är utrustade med sexklovs bromsok och en förstärkt växellåda som ger bättre dragkraft. Den har också fått en finjusterad upphängning och startkontroll som synkats med styrsystemet.
Shelby GT500 har utvecklats tillsammans med racinglegendaren Carroll Shelby och skiljer sig från andra Mustangmodeller genom ett fyrdelat avgassystem, gjutna aluminiumfälgar och en framgrill som trycker bilen nedåt.
Tillvalet Performance package ger Shelby GT500 differentialbroms, tre extra kylare och elektroniskt justerbara dämpare.
